Merry Christmas from the team at Nightfall.
Well what a year that has been! We won't rehash everything that has happened, but suffice to say that we are a lot nearer to fulfilling the Kickstarter and SLA hasn't looked as healthy or positive for a long time.
Thank you to all of you for bearing with us.
Update:
We have been casting a lot of the models over the last week or two, so you will see the number of models in many cases has sneaked up further. In the New Year we are going to do a full stock take so we can clarify the status of each and every line.
Website
Mark and Jared have been working on the Nightfall website (there are now over 40 products on there. We will be launching in the New Year.
Mark has been making up many of the photos, which we thought you might like to see:
The A4 Rulebook
We have had the first art back from Clint Langley and it is a beaut.
The entire team are meeting on Friday night, to discuss process.
A little hand if you please?
We have discovered that there are a couple of threads started on Beasts of War which generally give the impression that this project is dead or at least not very well. If any of you feel like it please make a comment or two. It would be great to drum up some positive. Here are the links:
This will be our last update before the New Year. So we wish you a Merry Christmas

The A5 lands!

Hi from Nightfall
We received delivery of the A5 rules book late last week:
So another step nearer the end.
Status
Very little red now. We have the printed artwork inbound for Dave to sign. We have invested in some spot UV for this limited edition print, so those of you that have ordered it are getting something rather special.
At the same time we ordered another 5 arts pieces, in effect the favourites of the 4 of us at Nightfall. These will be offered on the website in the new year. And if I'm lucky I am hoping to get Dave to sign a few of them too.
With the website in mind, we have now got all the commercial products laid out and you can see them in the final table. These can be swapped in at the price listed.
We are still looking to getting shipping started in Jan.

Hi to you all from Nightfall Games
It has been a busy couple of weeks for SLA Industries, we have got the cards and A5 off to print and also finished the last render for the project: the Advanced Carrien. Alongside that another 7k words for the A4 book has been written and the team have started the layout process. Additionally, the Chapter header (double page arts for the front of each chapter) are all now either finished or in process. Meaning, only 1 art is left for Dave...namely the A4 cover art.
Advanced Carrien
Jordy
As many of you know, the Cannibals were run as a preorder, as part of this Daruma promised a lot of different sculpts were needed (Momma, 3 Runts, 2 Butchers and Jordy). Daruma managed to render Momma and the Runts, before announcing liquidation (although didn't pay the printer for the 3D prints of the Runts). Some of you paid a significant amount of money for these, and have yet to receive anything. Nightfall have now completed the remaining sculpts (the Butchers and Jordy), while also commissioning a KS exclusive Butcher sculpt and a new Butcher type: the Wrangler.
All the models are now in production and we will be reaching out to those of you that paid for these models to get them out to you as soon as possible.
The Update
Forward movement again. Still got a fair few to cast, but should be good for early next year. No red (yet to start) in the main Pledge and only the A4 causing a Yellow (preproduction). Everything else either finished (Blue) or in production (Green)
Next we will move to Feany's Boys. This will be a quick win sculpt as we have the ztl files for Feany and reposing is a lot cheaper than sculpting from scratch.
The Book
Dave and Jared spent last weekend, going through the master document and splitting it into chapters. It was a long and arduous task, but has swelled our chest rather and given the team a real forward momentum as we realise this book is very close.
Shep has been getting through the Locations over the last few weeks, Jared is on the equipment, Mark is tasked with proofing the Introduction and History and Dave is finalising the arts.
Once Shep is done with Locations, we will get the proofing done and send that chapter off to an external volunteer proofer. This is a short chapter, so works well as a test piece for the process. Once back from him, it will go to layout.
Chapter Header Art (WIP)
Dave recently released this art WIP on his Facebook page. As you can see, it is an in-depth and complex piece ... oh and it has the Wrangler and Armoured Pigs....!:
From Dave's Facebook Post: So, I'm now coming towards the end of Cannibal Sector One and going through the process of completing the final art for the main rulebook. This will be the chapter headers (all double page spreads depicting some scene of Sector life) and the Book Cover (which will be the last thing to be done on the project).
This has been a very, very long road and I'm somewhat amazed there's light at the end of tunnel at last. To be staring at these final sketches is a bit like winning the lottery. I just have go through and paint them now.
The sketch below is for the Faction Section, and based around the game's namesake - Cannibals. This scene depicts the largest, deadliest Cannibal Clan in the Sector - The Bone Clan, led by the notorious Matriarch - Gordax Bone.
All praise Rawhead! Father of Gore!
Hope you like it.
Dragonmeet
Quick shout out to all of you we met at Dragonmeet. Was good to chat!
Status Update: 6 months since Word Forge took ownership of the SLA Industries stock from Daruma
about 6 years ago
– Tue, Nov 20, 2018 at 12:02:38 AM
Hi to everyone from Nightfall Games
Yesterday marked a significant date for this project.
On the 18th May 2018, Word Forge Ltd took receipt and stock of all SLA orientated products and assets, with the agreed intent between Word Forge Ltd and Daruma Production of completing the SLA Industries Kickstarter, because Daruma was not capable of doing so due to its financial situation. It was agreed that the products would be taken in lieu of the unpaid amount due to Word Forge Ltd. Since the aforementioned date, the sole director of Daruma Productions has stated publically that it would go into liquidation and has recommended to Word Forge Ltd, that the transaction may be liable to reversal by an appointed liquidator. Word Forge Ltd, has taken independent legal advice and confirmed that, as an independent third party, not part of Daruma or related to any Daruma shareholder or director, the above transaction could indeed be reversed at any point in the subsequent 6 months from the receipt date. As of the 18th of November 2018, a liquidator has not been commissioned and the six-month period has transpired. As such, Word Forge Ltd is now in undisputable ownership of the SLA Industries product and assets and promotional material supplied there with.
As many of you know, Word Forge Ltd., subsequently bought into Nightfall Games and Mark Rapson has joined the SLA writing team. With the money from this investment and the stock mentioned above, Nightfall Games has been able to fund the remaining sculpts, casting, printing and postage to complete this Kickstarter.
With that, and the passage of the six month period, things are looking very rosy:
Status
Having spoken amongst the NFG team, we have agreed rather than not supply certain models it is far better to substitute various models for those we do have (and will form part of the retail offering), hence instead of the T-Shirt, Ex-War Criminal etc., we will substitute Grunt, Dee and Gert etc. Obviously this is not what was advertised by Daruma during the KS so we will offer the ability to sub in and out, if individuals are really not wanting our proposed swaps, but please be aware that such substitutions will take more time.
Timelines:
We expect to have many of the freebies from the £100 pledge compiled and made by the end of the year. The exception will be the CS1 A4 book, which is likely to be with us in Q2 2019.
In January, we will update you all here to ask whether you want to split shipment and get you models (A5, templates etc) in Jan then the main book in Q2. We can afford to fund one shipment, so if an additional is wanted it will need to be paid for.
Renders
As you can see above, the last render from the Stretch Goals, the Advanced Carrien, is now underway. Jordy and the Butchers are also being printed!
Denizen, Character and Vehicle Cards
– Tue, Nov 06, 2018 at 12:17:46 AM
Hi to everyone from Nightfall.
As we continue to wait on progression with Daruma, the Nightfall team have been busy making the cards for CS1. Go here to access the PDFs of cards for all models that have been released to date: Card Download. The PDF will remain available until the end of the month, to allow all that have bought models to download the cards. After this we will send them to print.
Anyone that has already bought models from Daruma or Nightfall, will be able to get their missing cards for free by sending us a photo of their model. P&P will need to be paid, but if added to an order it will be free (more on this in a later update).
There are 3 different type of cards: Denizen, Character and Vehicle.
Denizen Cards
Denizen are Characters that cannot be added to a patrol, but can enter the game via the Denizen rules. They include Halloween Jack, Delia, Manchines, Digger and critters, such as Puddle Hermits and Arachnostalkers.
Each Denizen card includes the Statline, Denizen type, special rules, equipment and race of the creature. It also features a novel Dave Allsop art piece. At the bottom of the card the HP (Hit Points) and AP (Armour Points) for the character are included in bullet form. If the cards are placed in sleeves, these can then be easily marked off using a dry marker pen.
Character Cards
The Character cards are laid out similarly to the Denizen cards, but are obviously different. Character can be added to a Patrol so need a Creds value, additionally in the top right of the card the Factions a Character can join is added (in the case of MacRoberts it is SLA Operatives (more on this faction in the A4), Shivers and Sector Rangers).
BUT...all character may also used as denizens, meaning that the card can be added to the Denizen Deck. This means that the Denizen Deck can get rather (and pleasantly) large and all you character models have a chance of getting played, even if you don't include them in a patrol.
Vehicle Cards
Vehicle cards are a variant of the Character card. As most vehicles can be taken by multiple factions, we needed to replace art with faction logos, but otherwise they function in exactly the same way as the other two card types.
Pvt. Dave Smith
As Shep and Mark R progressed through the cards, they cooked up a special character: Shiver Private Dave Smith. Dave will be a Kickstarter exclusive Character card, sent to all pledgers who have a copy of the A4 coming to them, he will also have his own Scenario.
Dave likes fire...Dave likes fire a lot, it mesmerises him. Watching paper, furniture, buildings or whole hab-blocks burn sends him catatonic. Watching a Scav light up is fun for Dave, or hearing a DarkNight operative scream until their vocal cords snap - Dave is partial to a bit of that too!
Dave now works in Cannibal Sector One, he superiors aren't too worried if he burns shit there. They should have been! Dave burnt Colin...Bad Dave!
The A5
This week we are making the fixes to the A5 rulebook. Once done we will send it for print and expect to have it by the 1st of December all ready for Dragonsmeet!
