Backerkit has 1 week left!
about 7 years ago – Tue, Feb 21, 2017 at 10:41:20 PM

There is only 1 week left in Backerkit, most of you have already completed and returned your Questionnaires, but there are still about 70 left to do so.

If you can, please complete it and get it back to us by 28th February, 7 nights from now - when it will be locked down.

So, what have we been up to? Well.. there are currently 2 Ebb users being rendered, and they are very close to being finished. They have been fairly time intensive for our Sculptor due to the intricate nature of the Death Suits, but they are well worth waiting for! The question is, who gave the Brain Waster a big frakkin gun???

Ok, and on other news - we have a large Playtest and Tournament play through day this Saturday, 25th February in Doncaster. If you want to come along and simply watch, see the new miniatures we are working on and check out how well the games play - you'd be very welcome. We are also hoping, that if all goes well, this chap may make an appearance...

Diggers Head! Actual size
Diggers Head! Actual size

Yes, that is the actual 3d master print of Diggers Head - and that is the actual size it will be.. we've now seen the entire miniature, and its big,  highly detailed, and ultra cool! We hope to see it gracing many tables in coming years! All going well, we will unveil the entire Model on Saturday! Photos to follow next week!

Until now - thank you to all of those whom have returned their backerkits, the rest of you - please get them back to us by Tuesday 28th February.

Backerkit update
about 7 years ago – Sun, Feb 19, 2017 at 04:15:20 PM

Good morning all.
We have managed to add the Faction Cards and Faction dice to the listing of all items in the upper pledges. They remain a selection in the lower pledges, so that is unchanged.

We can add the Xeno as an add-on ok, in either Resin or metal options. However, as the Backerkit has gone out, they won't let us add him in as a selective option now - because the majority of the responses have come back and it would unlock and open them all back up.

So, easiest way - we will manually add him to ever £100 pledge, in resin. Its our bad, so we will only make this chap in resin and every £100 pledge gets him as an upgrade at no extra cost and everybody who adds him on gets him in resin as well. How does that sound? It is, once the Questionnaires go out, pretty much the only way we can make sure you all receive him.

- Hopefully, that fixes it!

On some very exciting News.. Digger is being 3d printed right now!!

- literally, as we speak - the files are in the 3d printer and our Sculptors / Casters press the go button on the print process tomorrow. They expect it to take most of the next 48 hours as he is a BIG model, but will have a master by Wednesday and the first cast by Thursday.

- We are hoping, that if all goes to plan; we'll have Digger as guest of honour at our Playtest event next weekend and will unveil him there. We will, a week on Tuesday, have some photographs for you all.

Hopefully this helps with the Cards & Dice on the upper pledge, and resolves the curious case of the missing Xeno.

Digger
about 7 years ago – Tue, Feb 14, 2017 at 01:16:49 PM

Apologies for the quiet couple of weeks - we have been catching up on back orders and lots of behind the scenes stuff.

The big news is that we have just signed off on Digger! The Render is currently being chopped into chunks to go for 3d Printing and we may even have the master by next week! In the meantime, we thought we would make this weeks' update short and sweet..

Please note - there are various pipes, hoses, etc dangling down the back of the miniature that are not shown on this sizing render, but you get the idea.. he is BIG and scary.. and coming to a table near you!

Getting all frothy about SLA!
about 7 years ago – Tue, Jan 24, 2017 at 05:16:48 PM

Good Evening.

Firstly, a few apologies - there are 1 or 2 bits wrong or missing from the Backerkit. We've been working closely with the Backerkit folks (who are very friendly and helpful!) on fixing a few, and now have corrected a glitch whereby a different SKU code comes up from what you've selected from the Miniatures options!

Also, the Pledge level entries don't have a full list of everything in the pledge - we didn't consider putting the auto include stuff in but are going back and doing so for the sake of clarity.

Finally, we missed the Xeno.. now that one is due purely to the effectiveness of the Xeno's genetically engineered camouflage, so chalk that as a success for the SLA Infiltration training Dept ;)

Ok! Onto some cool minis - you've seen Feaney and the Aetherman, whom are currently being 3d printed! You  haven't, however, seen these fellas..

Our 3d Sculptor loved working on McNultie so much, that he actually approached us with regards to creating a full squad of Frothers (he plans to use them on the tabletop!) and.. with images like above.. how could we say no? We weren't sure we'd be able to include them in the KS, but they are now ready and are off for 3d Master Printing this week, we will have them in the regular store available for delivery early in February. There will be a gorgeous 5 Frother Squad including heavy weapon and that awesome Topper Sculpt as an additional Character. Dave was careful to point out, that any character trying to fire twin FEN091's is liable to end up with 2 broken arms.. but hey.. its a Frother and the best way to get them to do something is to tell them they shouldn't / can't / aren't allowed...

Backerkit Update
over 7 years ago – Wed, Jan 18, 2017 at 03:51:20 PM

Good Morning

Apologies for this update going out a little late (this morning instead of last night) but we have been mad busy with Backerkit queries and Rendering feedback.

So, firstly - the Backerkit! It is going very well with only 1 or 2 teeny wee glitches. Some of you have noticed that when you select a miniature on the dropdown options, its a different miniature that comes up on your confirmation. Please bare with us, its likely something we haven't set up correctly at the back end but Backerkit are looking into it for us right now and it will be corrected well before the final lockdown at the end of February!

Other than that, the only query we have had a few times is regarding the templates and tokens; if you purchase them all separately you can choose if you want regular generic tokens, if you purchase the £25 bundle we will ensure that the Generic tokens (those are universal rules) match your faction tokens, i.e. we will engrave them on the same acrylic and finish as the Specific set so that they all match! The 3 sets are; templates, Generic tokens (with Universal rules common to all factions) and faction Tokens (specific orders, etc for your chosen faction).

So, onto the cool stuff! The 21 Miniatures funded via KS; as we get the Backerkit locked in, we will know how many to make (and what the resin / metal split is). We currently have renders for the KS versions of; Rooker, McNultie and Joe Fade - the Aetherman and Feaney are also complete and ready to go for 3d printing. In addition, Digger is approaching his final feedback and will be given the thumbs up by Dave very soon now. The Ebon and Brainwaster begin rendering in the next week or so and may well be ready by beginning of February, closely followed by the Wraithen and Shaktar. By the close of backerkit we are confident that we will have unveiled 8+ of the Renders and a range of images of the Critterpack.  The rest are already booked in with the Sculptors at the rate of around 4+ per month, which should comfortably bring them in on time for the KS delivery! So, lets take a look at some images shall we?

Feaney - swaggering with confidence
Feaney - swaggering with confidence

 - We love this Feaney image, our Sculptor Ben has captured his swagger beautifully - you can imagine he is walking away with explosions going off in the background and all hell breaking loose and Feaney has not a care in the World..

Aetherman with his Cuppa
Aetherman with his Cuppa

We debated long and hard over giving the Aetherman an action pose.. but it just doesn't suit him. His archaic armour doesn't lend itself to crazy action poses either. So.. Dave came up with a KS Exclusive - Aethermen are the sensible, salt of the earth, never fazed type.. and never far from a Cup of Tea. So, we gave him 1! This is exclusive to the KS miniature only, he comes with a Standard Issue Aetherman Mug 1.0. You can imagine him facing off against a Figment with mug and spanner! To make sure that you guys are getting something special, we are also going to include a unique Equipment card (to KS backers whom get the Aetherman only!) representing his favourite blend, this will have a minor but fun in game effect and in years to come.. you'll know that those Aetherman with a Cuppa in hand were the first and exclusive!

They are all cool we hear you say, but what about Digger!?!? Well.. Dave won't let me unveil him just yet as he and Herb are still working on a few revisions. I can tell you though that you'll get to see him very soon.. and that he is 1 scary beast.. we really don't want to meet him in a back alley in CS1.. or anywhere else for that matter! So please stay tuned and we will feature Digger in an update very soon!

Whilst our 2 Sculptors are forging ahead with KS sculpts now, and we have managed to lock in a lot of their time in coming months. We also have a wee surprise.. Ben enjoyed working on a recent project so much that he got a little carried away.. and has sculpted us some truly amazing pieces. What could they be..? I can tell you they have us frothing with excitement.. more news on this surprise release very soon!
