Aethermen, Digger Meets Jack..
about 7 years ago – Tue, Mar 21, 2017 at 05:30:54 PM

We've had a productive week - a  long meeting with our main 3d sculptor and  discussion with both of our Resin Casters, followed by some careful planning. We are currently nailing down the time frames on the remaining sculpts. In the meantime Dave has been creating art at a furiously inspiring pace (he wants to keep most of it under wraps for now though and await the big reveal).

So, for now, whilst we are doing a lot of back end planning to get us to the finish line - here are a few images from this week for you to enjoy.

Shaktars, Chainaxes and Faction guide
about 7 years ago – Thu, Mar 16, 2017 at 01:17:35 AM

Good evening, sorry for the lateness of this weeks update - we were awaiting a few last minute bits and pieces.. but they have been very much worth waiting for!

Firstly, as part of the Armoury - Dave has been working on Weapon imagery, and this SLA Classic is a firm favourite of all of us! He has a few images prepared, but we managed to infiltrate and snatch this one..

SLA Industries Chain Axe
SLA Industries Chain Axe

This Axe will be available as a loose component on this months release - the Frother Squad, with not only a tartan clad loon wielding this Axe 2 handed, but also you get a spare to allocate to whomever you like. There will be a few miniatures with this version of the Chain Axe!, including next months surprise release, the <<REDACTED>>

As gorgeous as that Axe is, its not quite big enough for this fella..

Shaktar
Shaktar

Ladies, Gentlemen and Xenos of the World of Progress - we present.. the Shaktar. This beast will appearing on a Tabletop near you before long.. and yes - that is a very big gun! This fella is enormous! Not quite Digger scale, but you wouldn't want to meet him in a back Alley anywhere.. especially not CS1! This miniature will not only be tall, but very bulky - as you can see from his armour!

Finally, for this weeks update - we have prepared a PDF guide to the Core Factions of the CS1 Game. This is a simple Faction guide to help get your heads around whom does what and who they all are! Please feel free to spread this document near and far!

Ebb Time!
about 7 years ago – Tue, Mar 07, 2017 at 07:31:55 PM

Good Evening, welcome to another Tuesday night update! We are racking through these miniatures at a good pace now. This month, we have focussed on the Ebb users - Ministry the Brainwaster and Shine the Ebon. We.. also.. erm.. may have snuck in an extra Brainwaster by accident :)

- Firstly, let us introduce you to Ministry, the Kickstarter version has him carrying his favourite toy - the Reaper cannon. Why does a Brainwaster, capable of blowing up buildings with his mind, need a Reaper Cannon? because its a really cool big gun! Ministry loves its rate of fire, the kick when it fires, the satisfying mess it makes of his targets..

His counter, a rather more stable young Ebon lass - Shine, prefers to get up close and personal. With Flintlock and blade, or her preferred twin blade - Shine is a terror in melee.

Shine - both KS and Retailer versions
Shine - both KS and Retailer versions

Now.. the only issue with Shine is that we love both versions! We can't make our mind up which to use as the KS pose and which is the Retailer.. they both look fantastic!

Ok, so.. part of the design process is that our 3d Sculptor sends us a plain T pose of a miniature before completing details, posing, etc - just to make sure he is on the right track. When Ben sent us the T pose of Ministry, as soon as we saw it, it screamed Gunslinger to us! So.. we had him alter the appearance a little to make it different from Ministry, and added a pair of Ebb 'locks to his belt, the end result? We have a 3rd Brainwaster / Ebon - we are delighted to introduce Gunslinger to the Ebb lineup. He is not a KS miniature, and will be available from us direct or our Retail network from April. We hope you agree, he is 1 creepy looking Ebb user..

 And, if that wasn't enough for this week.. we have a special offer on the Cannibals! Rather that go into too much detail here, please follow this link for our exciting Pre Order on the forthcoming Cannibal starter set;

Next week, we will look at whats next up for rendering and, hopefully, a few photos of some of the newer miniatures to come out of the 3d Printer!

Digger has been sighted.
about 7 years ago – Wed, Mar 01, 2017 at 05:33:12 PM

Kickstarter was having a wee hissy fit last night - it wouldn't let anybody upload any pictures. It seems to be behaving itself tonight, so.. we thought we would share a few snapshots of Digger!

This is the first model out of the moulds, please excuse the quality of the photographs - i grabbed a few snapshots with my Phone. We gave it a quick spray silver and highlighted it with ink to make some of the details stand out a bit more - he will be going off for proper painting and photography very soon!

He is big, impressive, and beautifully detailed.. and comes in remarkably few parts - our Resin caster has worked some magic, and those fantastically intricate hands are 1 piece castings!

Anyway, enough from us, take a peak at these!

Yup, thats a Shiver next to him..

He is one ugly mutha.. and stands approx 140mm in height to the top of his combat blades. He is impressive, to say the least - apologies again for the poor quality images - but you get the idea. Now, lets get him sent off for proper painting before we let him loose in the Sector.

Lockdown imminent & Digger is on the loose.
about 7 years ago – Tue, Feb 28, 2017 at 11:17:55 PM

Good evening!

This update is a little earlier than most, because tonight we lock down the Backerkit! There are 40 of you still to complete your Backerkit questionnaire, we have sent a few reminders so if you have not yet done so, could you please complete it asap before we lock it all down tonight!

This weekend we had a fantastic Event day in Doncaster - 20 players spent all day playing games, building Ops and testing everything out for us. The overwhelming consensus is that the rules are pretty much there - barr for a little bit of minor tweaking and some rewording of the odd explanation, we are happy that the rules are almost finished.

There is still a good bit of playtest to be done on the Factions, and once we lock the rules down completely we will continue to do so across all of the Factions until we are happy that they are balanced and fun!

So, what else did we get up to at the weekend? Well..we received the very first Production cast of Digger!!!

- for some reason, Kickstarter is not allowing me to upload photos right now - so why not head over to the Daruma Facebook page and catch the snapshots there?

https://www.facebook.com/daruma.productions/

- Our caster will be making several dozen of these a month, every month.. until we hit the 300 or so that are needed for the Kickstarter backers. Remember - this awesomely huge beast of a model is currently £25 in the Kickstarter, we reckon he will be around £40 RRP when he goes out for Retail release later in the year - why not bag a bargain now and grab a spare?

Once again, please - if you haven't yet completed your Backerkit, can you do so in the next few hours?
